HAL built HAWK AJT inducted into Indian Air Force
Bangalore, Aug 14 (UNI) The HAWK Mk132, advanced jet trainer built by the state owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) was today inducted into the Indian Air Force.
The BAE systems designed supersonic jet trainer was handed over to Air Chief Marshal Fally H Major by HAL Chairman Ashok K Baweja at a glittering function at the HAL airport here.
Earlier, HAL Chief Test Pilot Sqn ldr (Rtd) Baldev Singh flew the aircraft in a breathtaking display on overcast and windy day.
Speaking on the occasion the Air Force Chief said the HAWK Trainer would help the Air Force with a lead end trainer that would seemlessly help shift from subsonic to supersonic module for its cadet pilots.
