Groundnutseed, edible oils slip

Mumbai, Aug 14 (UNI) Prices of groundnutseed and edible oils like groundnut, palm and soyabean drifted lower today following reports of rainfall at the producing centres and sluggish demand from stockists, traders at the Bombay Commodity Exchange said.

In oils (10 kgs), groundnut oil moved down by Rs 10 per ten kg on sustained selling pressure by stockists while RBD palmolein refined eased by Rs two on sluggish demand from stockists. Soyabean refined dropped by Rs three.

Castor commercial grade also was down by Rs two on poor offtake by bulk industrial users, traders said.

Among seeds (per quintal), groundnutseed kernel and castorseed declined by Rs 50 and Rs 10 respectively on thin demand by stockists, induced by expectation of bumper crops coming in the Kharif season at the producing centres.

In De-oiled cakes, however, rapeseed extraction and castor extraction were also up by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per metric tonne on fresh buying support by local exporters, traders added.
