Gram Sabhas in all MP villages on Aug 15
Bhopal, Aug 14 (UNI) Gram Sabhas will be organised in all villages across Madhya Pradesh on Independence Day to review implementation of the Forest Rights Act, National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme(NREGS) and other welfare schemes.
The state government has directed District Collectors and Chief Executive Officers of District Panchayats to ensure that the Gram Sabhas were organised and its report submitted to the government.
Official sources today said the Gram Sabhas would identify beneficiary-oriented and community works under Shelf-off project 2009-10 under NREGS and get them approved, undertake social audit of ongoing works, constitute monitoring and evaluation committees and get divided families included in the list of rural families.
The Gram Sabhas would also ensure completion of action on all community claims under Forests Rights Act, verify individual claims and extend date for the remaining claims. It would also ensure redressal of problems being faced by claimants.
Officers and employees, who were assigned the work of convening formal meetings of Grams Sabhas, were also told to present a copy of their report about the Gram Sabha to the Block Panchayats also.
