Bangalore, Aug 14 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hrs today.
Southwest monsoon was active over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at many places over South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.
Very Heavy Rainfall amounts (cm): Agumbe, Bhatkal 23 each; Shirali 15; Gerusoppa 14; Mani 13.
Heavy Rainfall amounts (cm): Bantwal, Honavar 12 each; Subramanya, Kota, Kollur, Sringeri, Linganamakki, Talaguppa, Hosanagar 11 each; Mulki, Panambur, Mudigere 10 each; Mudibidre, Bajpe 9 each; Siddapura, Kumta, Kammardi, Kottigehara 8 each; Mangalore, Belthangadi, Dharmasthala, Puttur, Kundapur, Ankola, Bhagamandala, Thirthahalli 7 each.
Other Chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Udupi, Karkala, Karwar, Siddapura, Madikeri, Sagar, Tyagarthi 6 each; Sulya, Sirsi, Arasalu 5 each; Jagalbet, Joida, Kalasa, Chikmagalur 4 each; Chikodi, Napoklu, Virajpet, Madapura, Somwarpet, Soraba, N.R.Pura, Lakkavalli Sakleshpura 3 each.
Forecast valid until Saturday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka; many places over South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.
Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at most places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and over Kodagu, Shimoga, Chikmagalur and Hassan districts of South Interior Karnataka.
Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over remaining districts of South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over all the districts of North Interior Karnataka.
Heavy Rainfall Warning: Heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.
FISHRIES WARNING: Strong onshore winds from westerly direction speed occasionally reaching 45 to 55 kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during the 24 hours.
Outlook for subsequent two days: Decrease in rainfall over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka.
