9 killed, 2 injured in Ramban accident

Jammu, Aug 14: At least nine people were killed and two injured when a truck in which they were travelling, rolled down near Ramban on Jammu-Srinagar national highway, official sources here said on Thursday, Aug 14.

''The truck carrying around dozen people, was on its way from Srinagar to Jammu and met with an accident near Chasma Battery area on national highway and fell into 300-feet deep gorge,'' official sources told.

Nine people died on the spot while two got critically injured, sources said.

''Police and army rushed to the spot and started rescue operation,'' they said adding the injured were immediately shifted to the nearby hospital.
