5 more succumb to rain-related diseases, toll rises to 93
Mumbai, Aug 14 (UNI) Five more people succumbed to rain-related diseases, taking the death toll to 93 since the onset of the monsoon in the metropolis this year.
Civic officials said during the last three days, around nine people succumbed to various rain-related diseases.
Out of the total affected people, five had succumbed to malaria one each at Rajawadi, Bhagwati and Sion hospitals and two in KEM, three to lepto and one patient succumbed to dengue at Nair hospital, the officials said.
During the last two days, as many as 268 people were admitted to various civic run hospitals. Out of these, 61 were admitted for gastroenteritis, 23 for leptospirosis, one for dengue and 60 for malaria.
