VHP, BJP leaders held on Amarnath land issue

Hyderabad, Aug 13 (UNI) BJP Andhra Pradesh President Bandaru Dattatreya, National Secretary N Indrasena Reddy, Legislature Party Leader G Kishan Reddy, hundreds of party workers and VHP activists were today taken into custody when they staged demonstrations at various places in the city demanding restoration of land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).

The agitators were picked up by the police when they tried to obstruct vehicular traffic and were released later, according to police.

The agitation was part of the nation-wide agitation by the BJP and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) to press for restoration of the land to the Board.

Reports of protest came from different parts of state, including Warangal and Guntur.
