VHP 'bandh' cripples life in Uttarakhand
Dehra Dun, Aug 13 (UNI) Life came to a standstill for more than two hours today, as BJP and VHP workers took to the streets to protest revocation of the land alloted to the Amarnath shrine board in Jammu and Kashmir.
BJP and VHP workers came out in large numbers on the streets in Ghantaghar, Chakrata road and Risparnapul areas forcing public transportation off the roads.
A majority of shops and schools remained closed as a result of the bandh.
While the Delhi-Dehradun Highway was jammed, there were reports of National Highway 58 connecting Hardwar between Delhi and Manapass being blocked.
There were no reports of anybody getting injured during bandh.
