Schools in Kodagu closed due to rain
Madikeri, Aug 13: The Primary and High Schools will remain closed for one more day, as rainfall continued in Kodagu district of Karnataka.
Students of Field Marshal Cariappa College went on a flash strike on Tuesday, Aug 12 demanding holiday as they were unable to cross rivers and streams in rural areas to attend college, following which the principal declared two days holiday.
According to official sources, two houses collapsed partially at Virajpet in Maletirike hill and Maithadi while many houses at Madikere were partially damaged due to heavy rain.
While Cauvery river was in spate at Bhagamandala, Honnamana Lake at Somwarpet taluk was filled to the brim.
