300 delegates to participate in 'Rubber Summit'
Kochi, Aug 13: Over 300 delegates from the country and abroad will participate in India's first 'Rubber Summit and Dinner' which focuses on making India a global rubber power on August 16 here.
The event is organised by 'Rubber Asia' magazine in association with the Rubber Board and All India Rubber Industries' Association.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Aug 13 'Rubber Asia' Editor and Managing Director Kurian Abraham said the summit would be a platform for manufacturers, traders, processors, exporters and importers and policy makers in the rubber industry to come together.
Secretary-General of International Rubber Study Group (IRSG) Hidde P Smit will deliver the keynote address on ''Oil Price Shock and Rubber Markets'' and International Rubber Consortium, Thailand, CEO Sang Udomjarumani will speak on the ''Rising NR price and Demand Supply mismatch.'' Mr Abraham said the event assumed significance in the context of India emerging as a global economic power and currently the country was the world's fourth largest consumer of natural rubber and numero uno in productivity.
Experts from major rubber producing countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Philippines had confirmed their participation in the summit, Mr Abraham added.
