Malaria claims 4 lives in Mainpuri
Mainpuri, Aug 13 (UNI) Malaria is fast spreading in this district of Uttar Pradesh claiming four lives, including two women in the last 24 hrs.
The casualties were reported from Nagla Sheesh, Nagla Kothi Jirauli and Simrai villages, where Chotelal, Mukut Singh, Chameli Devi and Kasturi Devi died due to the mosquitoe borne disease, health department sources said.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Gyan Singh said 13 mobile health teams were on patrol in the affected villages and blood test and medication of the sick was being done.
He said the region was under the grip of mosquitoe-borne and other infectious diseases like diarrhoea and cholera due to water-logging following heavy downpour in this monsoonal season.
