K'taka govt to introduce medical insurance to teachers
Udupi, Aug 13 (UNI) Primary and Secondary education minister Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri today said that the state government would implement medical insurance scheme to the teachers working in the government schools.
Speaking at a conference organised by Head Masters and Principals of government institutions, he said this was done after the government received many representations and suggestions from the teachers.
Stressing the need for ensuring quality curriculum in schools, he said it was disturbing that a lesson like +Avva+, based on flesh trade, included in the text book. This might have bad effect on young minds, he feared.
Necessary changes would be made in the text books by the government next academic year, he said.
The government was also planning to change the exam pattern and question papers for 10th std examination from 60:40 pattern of subjective and objective questions from next year, he said.
