Kodagu to get mini-airport soon
Madikeri, Aug 13: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has agreed to establish a mini-airport at Kodagu in the State, according to Deputy Speaker K G Bopaiah and Mr Appachu Ranjan, MLA.
Addressing a Meet-the-Press programme here on Tuesday, Aug 12 they said the land around Kudige in Kodagu District had been earmarked for the purpose. A software unit would also come up in the district to stop large-scale migration by local youth seeking jobs.

He said a Rs 25-crore package was allocated to Kodagu and facilities like roads and drinking water would get priority funding.
Mr Ranjan said the government had allotted Rs 15 crore for Sainik School and mini-stadia would come up in all the three taluks in the district.
Emphasis would be laid on implementation of the Nanjundappa Committee recommendations, encouraging sports and education in the State.
