Jindal steel first phase to be completed in 2010
Bhubaneswar,Aug 13 (UNI)The first phase of the Jindal Steel plant at Angul will be completed by October 2010, Jindal Steel and Power Ltd Executive Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Naveen Jindal said today.
Mr Jindal, who met Chief Minsiter Naveen Patnaik here, told newspersons that work on the six million tonne Angul project was progressing well with cooperation of the local people as well as the government.
He said the company has already invested Rs 4,000 crore in land acquisition, equipment and other fields. About Rs 1,50,000 crore will be invested in the first phase of the plant.
Mr Jindal said the company has already invested Rs two crore last year for the development of peripheral areas and planned to invest another five crores this year under its Corporate Social Responsibility sector.
The company has undertaken renovation of a village temple, introduced mobile health van, provided drinking water, electrified villages and initiated vocational training for educated youths of the land losers through the ITI to help them get employment.
