Jaya faults Centre on terrorism, handling Amarnath issue
Chennai, Aug 13 (UNI) AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa today alleged that the Centre had ''failed miserably'' to contain terrorism which had become rampant now as witnessed in the recent serial blasts and arrest of some terrorists who had plotted more such acts, including Tamil Nadu.
Addressing a press conference at the party Headquarters here she alleged that the state government was unable to cope with terrorism and the Centre was even more ''helpless'' in handling the issue.
''There is no security for the people in the country'', she alleged.
She charged that the fall out of the Amarnath Board issue of granting land in the state of Kashmir was also a reflection of this.
''Our party has expressed its view on the Amarnath Board issue at the all-party meeting convened by the Prime Minister'', she said.
Ms Jayalailthaa said it was the democratic duty of any secular government to ensure facilities for people of any religion during religious events.
''During my tenure as Chief Minister my government provided necessary facilities to people of all religions'', she pointed out and added this was the duty of any secular government.
