Inmates escape with police jeep
Betul, MP, Aug 13 (UNI) Two handcuffed under-trial inmates escaped in a police jeep after giving five personnel the slip today near this district's Bhaura Police Post.
''Neighbouring Hoshangabad-district residents Vinod Kanojiya and Bhagwan Das Jothe -- arrested on charges of looting and theft -- were being taken to a village for seizing material related to their cases,'' said Additional Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh Bhadoriya.
The duo escaped with the vehicle while the personnel began chatting after parking the jeep. Police were alerted in this and neighbouring districts.
