Villagers boycott family in Virajpet

Madikeri Aug 12: Villagers at Kadnur in Virajpet had decided to boycott A P Thammaiah and his family for lodging a complaint to the police and MLA against them that they were being harassed and threatned.

Thammaiah told the sources that Bhagavathy temple committee and some of the villagers have ostracized them. They threatened them with dire consequences, if they move out of their house.

Thammaiah, a daily wager, alleged that the villagers had also threatened to eliminiate his entire family. "My wife, who was a member of Swarnajyothi Self Help Group(SHG), was removed abruptly,", he added.

He urged the Karnataka Government to provide them adequate protection.
