They defied the curfew to prepare food for patients and attendents

Srinagar, Aug 12 (UNI) People at high security Sonawar area defied the curfew restriction for another reason to provide food to patients and their attendants of G B Panth hospital at Batwara cantonment.

Official sources said a message was received by the people at Sonawar that no food was provided to patients and attendants in the hospital because of curfew and other disturbances.

Immediately locals contributed rice, pulses, vegetables and other material for cooking the food by a cook who offered free of cost service.

However, after preparing the food, the security forces deployed outside three camps did not allow them to take it through the main road.

Later, they had to jump over two big walls to reach the hospital where they handed over the food to hospital cooks for distribution.
