SpiceJet Airlines announces special offer to defence personnels
Kolkata, Aug 12 (UNI) SpiceJet has announced a special offer to defence personnel with effect from August 15.
The scheme "Freedom to Fly" enables a defence personnel to travel by air by paying taxes and fees only.
This is the first time that any private airline has proposed to cut prices of air travel for Indian defence forces.
Mr Samyukth Sridharan, chief commercial officer, said, " This special scheme is our sincere salute to all men and women whose untiring efforts keep us safe and secure and help us to exercise our choice. We hope this will help them to visit their families and friends often enjoying our flights." The scheme was inaugurated by Lt Gen VK Singh, GOC-in-C Eastern Command, at a launching ceremony at Fort William where a large number of senior officers of Eastern Command were present.
Mr Singh thanked the SpiceJet for extending this facility to the defence personnel.
