UK's finest toys in India, thanks to Reliance

Mumbai, Aug 12: Reliance Retail on Tuesday, Aug 12 announced the launch of an exclusive pan India franchise arrangement with UK's Hamleys to distribute its finest toys across the country.

Reliance Retail, in a release said the arrangement ws aimed at combining the distribution dominance and scale of Reliance Retail and Hamleys experience famed for its heritage, theatre, magic and entertainment. Reliance Retail would open two flagship stores for Hamleys in Mumbai and New Delhi next year. This would be followed by regional expansion across the country over the next few years. A division of Reliance Indsutries Limited of Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Retail would be the partner in one of the biggest international expansions by the old iconic toy retailer, approaching its 250th anniversity in 2010.

The stores would sell a wide range of toys from the much loved brands to more traditional and nostalgic toys as well as quirky and unusual treasures. They included Hamleys own brand range.

Indian Toys and Games market was estimated around Rs.2500 crore, both organised and unorganised sectors put together.
