Rana hands over sim card of Dr Amit's mobile to court
Ambala, Aug 12 (UNI) Randip Rana, a criminal lodged in same jail as kidney scam kingpin Dr Amit Kumar here, handed over to the court today the sim card allegedly removed from the mobile set provided illegally to the doctor by jail authorities.
Randip, whom Dr Amit had accused of threatening him for a ransom of Rs 50 lakh, had earlier countered that Dr Amit, who was being illegally provided with mobile phone by the jail authorities, had levelled fake charges against him as he had removed the sim card from Dr Amit's phone .
Rana had also alleged that Jail authorities had also beaten him up at the instance of Dr Amit.
Rana, who was directed by the court to hand over the sim card to prove himself, today produced the sim card in the court of Dr Sunita Grover Judicial Magistrate I Class.
The magistrate ordered that the sim card be handed over to the SHO, Baldevnagar for further investigation and fixed August 26 as next date for hearing.
