Hyderabad, Aug 11 (UNI) The toll in rain related incidents in Andhra Pradesh has gone up to 62 even as Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy visited the affected districts today to take stock of the situation.

According to Disaster Management officials, 17 people were killed in Guntur, eight each in West Godavari and Nalgonda, seven in Hyderabad, five in Ranga Reddy, four each in East Godavari and Warangal, three in Krishna, two in Khammam and one each in Karim Nagar, Adilabad, Medak and Vizianagaram.

A report from Guntur said the Chief Minister handed over Rs two lakh each to families of those who died yesterday when an empty sand tipper lorry carrying 30 passengers was washed away while crossing a rivulet at Naralakullapadu in the district.

Dr Reddy said loans upto Rs 5,000 taken by the affected farmers would be waived as their crops were completely damaged in the heavy rains. Necessary steps would be taken to protect the farmers who suffered crop loss, after assessing the extent of damage.

The Chief Minister also visited Khammam district where most of the villages were submerged under flood waters.
