Prabha Rao to get 290 more felicitations in Maharashtra
Mumbai, Aug 11 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor Prabha Rao will get at least 290 more felicitations all over Maharashtra on assumption of office.
Speaking at a felicitation programme, organised to honour Ms Rao, by the Congress workers at Y B Chavan centre here today, the governor said although Himachal Pradesh has witnessed a great tragedy in Naina Devi temple stampede episode, she would not shy away from accepting the great affection shown by the party workers of her state.
She criticized a section of the media for castigating her for accepting felicitations despite the tragedy. She advised her critics to come to Himachal Pradesh and cool their heads.
All India Congress Committee general secretary and in charge of party's affairs in Maharashtra Margaret Alva praised Rao for her contribution in giving new zeal to the party in the state.
State industry minister Ashok Chavan and Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee acting president Patangrao Kadam were present on the occasion.
