Mumbai, Aug 11 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu today defended the party's decision to expose the cash-for-vote scam in Parliament instead of approaching police, claiming that the party has faith in people.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Naidu reiterated that the channel CNN-IBN did not telecast the tapes of the sting as it was under pressure from the government.

The BJP leader alleged that as the government was cornered due to this incident, it had decided to postpone the monsoon session of Parliament.

On the Amarnath issue, he said the Hindus in Jammu were ignored for a long time by the Central and the state governments. As a result, they have been expressing their anger against the apathy.

''Years of negligence, insult, exodus of Pandits is now coming out in anger and BJP is merely supporting their demand,'' he said.

Mr Naidu alleged that the Congress always divided people on communal grounds and questioned why did the Jammu and Kashmir government take the decision on the Amarnath Shrine land allotment issue now.

The J &K government's decision to roll back the allotted land was a complete surrender to the pseudo secular and fundamental forces, he added.
