'My dream before leaving the world fulfilled' : Milkha

Chandigarh, Aug 11: With Abhinav Bindra shooting gold medal in the men's 10 metres air rifle in the Beijing Olympics today has done the country proud, said an excited and elated 'Flying Sikh' Milkha Singh.

"It is a very big thing" he said while talking to UNI on the phone from Delhi. "Finishing on top with a creditable 700.5 in his event, it is a very big achievement by an Indian in shooting", he added.The father of ace Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh, emotionally said "the Chandigarh based Indian shooter Bindra has fulfilled my dream by winning gold medal in Olympics".

"My dream was that India should win the first position in Olympics in an individual sports discipline before I leave this world", he said added " I heartily congratulate Abhinav Bindra for his most outstanding performance in the Beijing Olympics." Milkha Singh said "parents of Abhinav Bindra deserve full credit for their son touching the dizzy heights in the Beijing Olympics.

He said Abhinav's coach Col JS Dhillon needs full praise initiating him into shooting at the Patiali Ki Rao Ranges in Sector 25. I congratulate Abhinav's father Dr AS Bindra and other members of his family, his coaches, including JS Col Dhillon for winning gold in Olympics."
