Govt approves 10 highway projects worth Rs 10,507.22 cr
New Delhi, Aug 11 (UNI) The government today said it has approved 10 National Highways projects worth Rs 10,507.22 crore, which will be built under the public-private partnership model.
The projects are located in eight states of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Kerala, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttrakhand.
''The Sixteenth Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPPAC) Meeting, chaired by Finance Secretary has granted approval to 10 projects of National Highways. The estimated project cost of the approved projects is Rs 10,507.22 crore,'' an official statement said.
Since its constitution in January 2006, PPPAC has granted approval to 65 projects, with an estimated project cost of Rs 53,284.95 crore.
These includes highways (56 projects), ports (six projects), airports (two projects) and tourism infrastructure (one project).
