DSP shoots wife, attempts suicide

Jaipur, Aug 11 (UNI) A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) shot his wife dead and attempted to commit suicide at their residence in Udaipur, police said.

DSP Jitendra Singh Sandhu was posted at Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Corporation mine in Udaipur district.

He fired from his service revolver after a tiff with wife Geetika last night at their Hiran Magri residence.

In a fit of rage, he also fired at his father-in-law, who tried to intervene, but the bullet missed the target.

Later, he tried to commit suicide and sustained serious injury.

He was admitted to a private hospital, police said.
