Couple killed, son injured in road mishap in Punjab

Fatehgarh Sahib, Aug 11 (UNI) A couple was killed while their son was seriously injured when a truck rammed into their car near a traffic signal chowk in Mandi Gobindgarh town last night.

Police today stated that the family was returning home to Sirhind when their car was hit by a truck. All the three who were injured in the mishap were rushed to the civil hospital at Mandi Gobindgarh from where they were refered to a Ludhiana based hospital.

However Harjinder Singh and his wife Swaran Kaur scummbed to their injuries while on the way to Ludhiana. Their injured son, Khushpreet was admitted to a Ludhiana hospital with serious injuries.

The police registered a case against the truck driver and impounded the vehicle.
