RBI building catches fire

New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) A major fire broke out on the first floor of the Reserve Bank of India here this evening.

Smoke was seen billowing up around 1845 hrs.

Fire Brigade officials said the fire broke out in the room where the UPS systems were kept. Eight fire tenders were pressed into service to control the flames.

They received information about the incident at 1825 hrs. The fire was put out at 1905 hrs, they said.

The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained, they added.
