Mother,daughter commit suicide

Puducherry, Aug 10 (UNI) A woman and her daughter allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison on the Veerampatinam Beach here last night.

Police said Balakrishnan, an ex-employee of the Bharathi Textile Mills who had taken voluntary retirement and Saraswathi had three children.

The couple's son Balachander (26) died of heart attack sometime back and Balaji (23), the second son, also died of the same cause on the Veerampatinam Beach.

Pained over the loss of two sons, Sarswathi(47) and her daughter Bharathi (25) went to the beach where Balaji died and consumed poison.

Fishermen who saw the bodies informed the police who brought them to the Government General Hospital for post-mortem.
