Hiroshima-Nagasaki victims remembered
Tiruchirapalli, Aug 10 (UNI) Blood-filled world, with gun strikes and people with panic-stricken faces on seeing whole chunk of bombs that come whizzing and the disquieting scene of terrorism, comes alive on the canvas of a student here.
A painting competition was held here to mark the Hiroshima-Nagasaki memorial day yesterday.
Distributing prizes to the winners of painting and essay competitions, District Collector T Soundiah said technology in the country had taken shape only because of strong foundation in science. Students should be encouraged to undertake research that would contribute to the development of the nation, he added.
He said the nanotechnology had brought a revolution in the field of food, agriculture, industry and medicine. Eco-friendly methods should be developed to boost the production of food crops, he added.
