Two drown in high tide at New Digha

Midnapore, Aug 8 (UNI) Two students of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) drowned in high tides at Kanikaghat near Digha in the district today.

Police said Arun Singh, Vijay Singh and Nishan Singh, students of ICAI-Kolkata, went for a Digha tour. While taking bath at Kanikaghat near New Digha, they were washed away by the high tides.

Whereas the locals managed to save Nishan by helping him swim to safety, others drowned, police said adding the bodies could not be fished out as yet.

The victims hailed from Bihar.
