Trader held for possessing invalid passport

Chennai, Aug 8 (UNI) Airport Police today arrested a 42-year-old businessman for attempting to travel to Paris on a tourist visa by Qatar Airline flight on an invalid passport.

When the businessman K Palanichami, hailing from Namakkal, produced his passport and visa for checking, immigration officials discovered that one of the pages in his passport, which had come off, was pasted on the back of the booklet. The Immigration officials informed him that his passport was invalid and cancelled it.

They handed him over to airport police, who arrested him.

The airport police also transferred the case to Central Crime Branch police for further investigation.
