Aircraft suffers bird hit, narrow escape for Venkaiah, others

Vijayawada, Aug 8 (UNI) Sixty-five passengers, including BJP senior Leader M Venkaiah Naidu and Congress MLA Dagubatti Venkateswara Rao, on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad Kingfisher flight had a providential escape when the plane suffered a bird-hit during take off at the Gannavaram Airport here this afternoon.

Airport sources said the flight took off for Hyderabad when it suffered a bird hit. The pilot made an emergency landing and averted a disaster.

The passengers were disembarked and the flight was cancelled for the day, they added.
