UP police spreads dragnet in SBI fake currency row
Lucknow, Aug 7 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh police has constituted several teams to nab other culprits behind the counterfeit currency racket recently busted at the State Bank of India's (SBI) Domariyaganj chest in Siddharthnagar district.
According to sources, on interrogating Sudhakar Tripathi and Abid, police came to know about two persons, believed to be couriers, who supplied fake currency to them.
Now, the police have launched a man-hunt for Abhishek of Bihar and Vinod Kumar Mishra of eastern UP, who were hand-in-glove with Sudhakar and Abid in the crime.
Meanwhile, state Additional Director General of Police (ADG) (law and order) Brijlal tonight confirmed that till date, notes worth over Rs 1.25 crore had been found fake against the counting of Rs 2.40 crore currency in the SBI's Domariyaganj chest.
He added that so far, all the fake note wads, had the signature of Sudhakar.
