Royal Families in the country would be invited for Mysore Dasara

Mysore, Aug 7 (UNI) Karnataka Government has decided to invite all the Royal Families members in the country to participate in the world famous Dasara Festivities beginning here from September 30, Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Shobha Karandlaje said today.

Talking to newsmen after a review meeting, she said that there are more than 350 Royal family members in the country and their list was sought from the Union Government for extending invitation by the Dasara committee. They would be honoured as per tradition.

Stating that the Dasara festivities has been now declared as 'Naada Habba', Ms Karandlaje, who is also District Incharge Minister, said that the government releasing Rs 10 crores for this purpose.

She said that the State government has decided to invite Sri Siddaganga Mutt Swamiji for the inauguration and leading personalities including former President A P J Abdul Kalam and others during the Dasara festivities.

As part of the Dasra Festivities 'Janapada' festival would be held in taluk headquarters in the state. Special illumination for the Mysore palace, Chamundi Hills and KRS.
