More rains to AP as low pressure likely to form in Bay

Hyderabad, Aug 7 (UNI) The death toll in rain-related incidents rose to 15 in Andhra Pradesh as one more person died today in West Godavari district of the state.

According to the India Meteorological Department(IMD), a low pressure area is likely to form over the northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal by tomorrow as an upper air cyclonic circulation lies over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of north Orissa and West Bengal.

Fairly widespread rainfall is likely over north Andhra Pradesh during the next three to four days.

Meanwhile, the level in river Godavari, which had touched the second flood warning level of 48 ft, receded to 41.40 ft at the temple town of Bhadrachalam this evening, official sources said.

However, a huge 11.86 lakh cusecs of water was drained into the sea from the doleswaram barrage as the river was flowing above the first flood warning level of 11.7 ft by 1.1 ft, official sources said.

Moderate to heavy rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana while light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over Rayalaseema.
