Meghalaya govt to set up medical colleges through PPP mode
Shillong, Aug 7 (UNI) The Meghalaya Progressive Alliance (MPA) government has invited Expressions of Interest (EoIs) from different groups and institutions from outside the state to set up medical colleges through Public Private Parthership (PPP) mode.
Official sources said here today that this decision was taken with a view to improving the health sector in the state and address the crisis of doctors.
A number of groups from outside the state have already shown interest to set up medical colleges through PPP and Memoranda of Agreements (MoAs) are likely to be inked with interested parties after completion of the required formalities which are at the initial stage presently, the sources added.
