Dadua's gang member escapes from police custody in UP

Chitrakoot, Aug 7 (UNI) Just three days after the death of dreaded dacoit Thokia in a fierce encounter with police in the woods here, a wanted and active member of Dadua dacoit gang -- Raju Kole -- managed to escape from police custody in Manikpur area of the district today.

Kole was incarcerated in Banda jail and carried a bounty of Rs 20,000 on his head, police said.

The outlaw fled from the clutches of police, when he was being brought back on train after a Court hearing in Satna (Madhya Pradesh).

According to sources, several members of Dadua and Pappu Yadav dacoit were presently lodged in the Banda jail.

Besides, the brother and member of Ambika Patel alias Thokia was also behind the bars in the same prison.

On August 4, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh police had shot dead Thokia during an encounter and ended an era of dacoit gangs in the UP-Madhya Pradesh border.

The escape of Kole was also being linked with the killing of Thokia, whose younger brother Deepak Singh may now leading the gang.
