SR to run special train to Nagercoil

Chennai, Aug 06 (UNI) Southern Railway (SR) will run special train to Nagercoil to clear the extra rush of passengers.

The Nagercoil-Chennai Egmore Special (Train No 0606) will leave Nagercoil at 1330 hrs on August 7 and arrive in Chennai Egmore at 0420 hrs, the next day, a Railway release here said.

The release said Union Minister of State for Railways R Velu, will flag off the inaugural Chennai Egmore-Salem-Chennai Egmore Superfast Expresses on August 8.

Mr K Venkatapathy, Union Minister of State for Law and Justice will preside over the function and Tamil Nadu Information Minister Parithi Ellamvazhuthi and Chennai Mayor Ms Subramaniam will participate in the function.

The Inaugural Special (Train no.2297) will leave Chennai Egmore at 1630 hrs on August 8 and arrive in Salem at 2315 hrs on the same day, it said.
