School children paints historic cities of India
New Delhi, Aug 6 (UNI) As many as 150 students participated in a Painting competition on 'Historic cities of India' Organised by Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) here today.
Ms Shobita Punja, Chief Programme Director, Heritage Education and communication Services, INTACH said, ''the competition is organised to make students aware of the fact that they live in a country with many cities, each with distinctive heritage and culture.
Through this programme, we hope that students will appreciate the importance of historic cities and develop a concern for their preservation and conservation''.
Ms Punja said Best entries will be awarded prizes and will be used in 2009 INTACH calender and Cards.
