Large cache of arms and ammunition reocvered, tragedy averted in J
Srinagar, Aug 6 (UNI) Security forces recovered war-like stores and averted a major tragedy while one militant surrendered along with arms and ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir overnight.
An official said this evening that a grenade was found at Zam Zam crossing Rambagh which was later defused without causing any damage.
A militant Farid Ahmad Itoo surrendered along with a live grenade at Doda town in Jammu region.
They said security forces busted two hideouts at Kupwara and Manjakote and recovered a war-like store.
The arms and ammunition recovered included one UMG, 16 rockets, 6 RPG, 3200 rounds of ammunition, one UBGL, one kg IED and hand grenade. However, no one was arrested.
