Deafening sound leads to panic in Porbandar

Porbandar, Aug 6 (UNI) Panic-stricken people rushed out of their houses after they heard a deafening sound from the garbage, lying in an open plot of Lati Bazar area here.

The incident occurred at around 2000 hrs last night.

Police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.

Preliminary investigation revealed that formation of gas from the Safety tank was said to be cause of the minor explosion.

Officials of the FSL also rushed to the area to ascertain the cause.

The situation returned to normal after people realised that it was not a bomb blast.
