BJP on a fast for govt quota in medical college
Puducherry, Aug 6: In an attempt to protest the alleged failure of the territorial administration to secure 50 per cent of the seats in private medical colleges as its quota, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday, Aug 6 observed a fast before the Legislative Assembly.
BJP State President M Visweswaran, Former President Kesavalu and National Council Member Swaminathan led the agitation which also pressed for speedy completion of the work on government-owned medical college here.
Meanwhile, under the directions of Party Supremo J Jayalalithaa, the AIADMK here took out a massive processsion through the thoroughfares of the town and held a demonstration in front of the head post office for the same cause.State AIADMK Secretary A Anbazhagan, MLA, led the agitation.
