Uma Bharti seeks immediate recall of J

New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) Calling for immediate recalling of the Jammu and Kashmir Governor, Bharatiya Jan Shakti party leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti today said the way media was being strangled there was tantamount to murder of democracy.

The agitation was not just about J&K but concerned the nation as well because the land acquisition was done legally and officially and through all proper procedures and then taken back, said the BJS leader addresing the media.

''I take the Governor solely responsible for the worsening of the situation there as it was he who had initiated the proceedings and then backtracked.'' The land should immediately be given back to the Sri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) so that people's hurt feelings are assuaged and normalcy prevailed there, she said adding that ''I take myself as part of the agitation and support it by all means.'' On whether she was with the BJP on this issue, Ms Bharti said, ''I am with everyone as there is the Shiv Sena, RSS, Bajrang Dal and several others besides the BJP fighting for the just cause.''
