Two arrested in illegal cow trade
Rourkela, Aug 4 (UNI) Police today arrested two persons, including a 15-year-old boy, for their alleged involvement in the illegal trade of cows.
Police arrested Budhia Tirkey (40) and Arun Kumar Nayak (15) of Khatkur Bahal village under Kutra Police station under the Cow Slaughter Act after Rourkela unit of the VHP organising secretary Gadadhar Sahu tipped police about the illegal transportation of cows.
Police said both Budia and Arun Kumar were arrested while transporting 25 cows from Khatkur Bahal to Gugud Jor near Bandhamunda in Sundergarha district.
VHP activists said cow slaughtering was rampant in Gudgud jor area. Budhia and Arun Kumar would be forwarded to court tomorrow, police said.
