Assam: SSB personnel shot dead

Kokrajhar, Aug 4: A Sasastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel was shot dead today by an unidentified person in Malibhita area in Assam's Chirang district, near the Indo-Bhutan border.

Lance naik Rana Sharma was traveling to a Border Out Post (BOP) in the sector on a motorbike with a colleague. He was shot at when he got off the bike to purchase something.

The assailant managed to escape.

Meanwhile, a businessman of Kokrajhar, was kidnapped from Datgiri area near the Indo-Bhutan border last evening.

No outfit has claimed responsibility yet.
