News Corp to invest USD 100 mn to launch six channels
Mumbai, Aug 4 (UNI) US-based media conglomerate News Corp plans to invest 100 million dollars for launching of six new television channels, but has no plans of acquiring stakes in print media, News Corporation Chief Rupert Murdoch said today.
News Corp will launch six new regional television channels within a period of next 12 months, Mr Murdoch told reporters on the sidelines of a conference here.
However, the media and advertising giant is not interested in acqiring stake in Indian print media, as it is capped at 26 per cent for the foreign ownership.
''We don't see ourselves taking a stake in print because they are not available and because we won't want to take just a 26 per cent stake,'' Mr Murdoch said.
