K'taka likely to raise battalion of Ecological Territorial Army
Bangalore, Aug 4 (UNI) Maj Gen K V S Lalotra, Additional Director General (ADG) of Territorial Army, today discussed the possibility of raising a battalion of Ecological Territorial Army in Karnataka, comprising of ex-servicemen belonging to the state and civilian volunteers.
During his visit, the ADG met Chief Secretary Sudhakar Rao along with Col S K Thapa, Commanding Officer of City-based 106 Infantry Battalion PARA, a defence release said here.
PARA was a Karnataka-based unit in which the civilians from southern states form the major force. This unit supplements the regular army in operations and provides aid to civil authorities during national emergencies.
