Goa seeks three central paramilitary companies
Panaji, Aug 4 (UNI) Goa government today urged the Centre to depute three companies of central paramilitary forces to further scale up security in the international tourist destination.
The state cabinet had earlier reviewed security situation in the state in the backdrop of serial blasts in Ahmedabad and Bangalore.
Interacting with mediapersons after the cabinet meeting, chief minister Digambar Kamat said he had directed the police to tighten the vigil at all vulnerable places besides taking all precautionary measures.
Police have been directed to install metal detectors at all public places including railway stations and bus stands and alert cops in all the police stations through routine drills, he said.
''No stone will be left unturned to provide security to the citizens from suspected terrorists and other anti-social elements,'' Mr Kamat added.
